Participation in an international scientific workshop - presetation and discussion of the West Attica case

At this schientific workshop / conference were invited scholars who work on the experiences nurtured by those communities in terms of social mobilization, co-production of knowledge, and experimentation with alternatives. Building upon the theory of the Wasteocene (Armiero 2021), the conference focused on a key socio-environmental sustainability challenge: contamination and waste. Wasting is more than the production of material residues; rather, we are interested in wasting as the socio-ecological relationships producing wasted communities and ecosystems. In other words, the theme of this workshop is not “waste” per se, but the ensemble of wasting relationships that transform communities into socio-ecological dumps.
